The Certified Tattoo Artist qualification has been benchmarked as the highest industry standard for tattoo artists. In a landscape where tattoo regulations and qualifications all vary, the CTA rises above them all, assuring its student’s qualification across the country and an advanced standard of training and proficiency among their peers.
The CTA qualification has been constructed by some of the world’s most prestigious tattoo artists and university professors. Students who pass must complete a 4 hour, 120 question exam. It requires the student to correctly answer detailed questions based on real life scenarios occurring in a tattooist’s course of work.
In addition, students are required to complete a timesheet which must be signed off by either a Tattoo Studio Manager or another Certified Tattoo Artist (or an artist with over 10 years of experience), warranting that they have supervised the student complete over 500 hours of tattooing clients (there are exemptions available, please email us directly as we may waive this requirement on a case by case basis).
Once the student has completed the 4 hour exam and 500 hours of tattooing, the student will be required to upload a current BloodBorne Pathogens certification before receiving a personalized framed Certified Tattoo Artist Diploma and a 24 month Certified Tattoo Artist membership.
